Vintage shopping and thrifting are a passion of mine. My advice? Always go to the thrift store assuming you won’t find anything. Those are the days you end up striking gold. I don’t know if it’s reverse psychology or simply the element of surprise, but somehow it always seems to work.
After leaving behind the incredible vintage scene in Vienna’s 7th District, I was eager to discover what treasures Prague had to offer. During my first few weeks, though, I had no luck. I visited stores recommended on Google Maps and even did some TikTok research. While I found plenty of shops, many felt overly curated, and some of the prices seemed a bit steep.
I reached a point where I thought, Maybe Prague just doesn’t have the best vintage scene. Still, I wasn’t ready to give up. One day after work, I was walking through my neighborhood, Vinohrady, and stumbled upon a secondhand shop. It wasn’t curated – it was just a good old-fashioned thrift store. I slowly worked my way through each rack, and that’s when Prague seemed to answer me back: You just haven’t found the right places yet.
There they were: the most darling low-rise red checkered shorts. I tried them on, and they fit perfectly. Best of all? They cost just 99 CZK (about $5 USD).
With a renewed sense of optimism, I left determined to keep searching for the city’s best vintage spots. I asked my coworkers for recommendations and even befriended a stylish waitress who shared a list of her favorite stores.
Now that I’ve officially hit the eight-week mark in my Prague internship, I can confidently say I’ve thrifted some of the coolest pieces I’ve ever owned. If you’re looking for curated vintage in Prague, these are my top recommendations.
Vintage Avenue
Every time I’ve visited Vintage Avenue, I’ve found something I love. It’s an adorable collection of Y2K gems, from statement tops to timeless basics.
One of my favorite finds was the perfect white top with cap sleeves and a charming high neckline. It’s versatile enough for my internship while still being easy to style casually on the weekends. I also found a sheer black top with a red floral motif that layers perfectly over a black tank.
Most recently, I thrifted two darling denim skirts. One is a light-wash mini skirt with three tiny buttons along the hem, a small detail that gives an otherwise simple skirt so much personality. The other, and love at first sight, is a midi denim skirt featuring embroidered flowers cascading down one side. I already know it’ll become a year-round staple. Paired with burgundy knee-high boots in the fall? Perfect. Styled with red ballet flats and a white tank in the summer? Equally effortless.
Overall, I absolutely love this shop. Located in Prague 3 rather than the city center, it offers carefully curated pieces that feel special. Prices are comparable to curated vintage stores in the U.S., with most items falling between $15 and $30 USD.

The name may not be particularly creative, but don’t let that fool you. If you’re someone who enjoys pairing a matcha (or coffee) run with a thrift trip, this place is for you.
Located in Prague 7’s Holešovice neighborhood, it’s conveniently close to Supernova Bakehouse – home to my second-favorite matcha in Prague (get the earl grey!).
The moment I walked in, my eyes landed on an ethereal orange beaded dress. It was hanging on a separate rack, so I assumed it wasn’t for sale. With a disappointed sigh, I continued browsing, hoping I’d find something else.
Thankfully, I did.
First came a pair of low-rise denim capris. If you know me, you know my love for capris. They’re perfect for transitional weather, and I’d been searching for a denim pair for ages. Next, I found a beautiful pink floral silk blouse with satin trim along the neckline. The sleeves flare softly at the shoulders, giving it the whimsical, fairy-like feel that I can’t resist.
I was perfectly content with those finds until I spotted the orange dress again. This time, I realized it had simply been placed on the rack for tried-on items. I slipped it on, and it truly felt like it had been waiting for me.
For years, I’ve dreamed of owning a Durhy dress – a highly coveted vintage brand among Depop enthusiasts. I couldn’t believe I had found one. The colorful patterns were vibrant, the beadwork and sequins were beautifully intricate, and it fit like it had been made for me.
The best part? It cost only $20 USD.
On top of that price, each piece was made from natural fibers like cotton, silk, and viscose rather than today’s polyester-heavy fabrics.
Without a doubt, this was the best thrift haul I’ve ever had.
There are certainly other curated vintage stores in Prague worth exploring, but these two stood out above the rest. If you’re visiting Prague, I highly recommend asking locals for recommendations. Whether you’re searching for restaurants, shopping, or sightseeing tips, they almost always know the hidden gems.
I’m excited to wear these pieces for years to come – not only because they’re stunning and my personal style, but because each one carries memories of thrifting with friends in Prague. They’ll continue to collect new memories wherever I wear them next, but giving them a second life in Prague feels like the perfect beginning.
